Brownsover residents can find out more about their long-awaited new GP surgery at a drop-in session next Thursday.

The session will allow patients and the community to give their views on the proposed plans for a new GP surgery to be built in Bow Fell, following approval of an outline business case last November.

Brownsover has been without a GP surgery since April 2015, with patients having to use a free bus service to an alternative practice in Lower Hillmorton Road.

NHS England said a replacement surgery in Brownsover would be up and running by autumn 2016 but it has been subject to a series of delays and the new one isn’t expected to be open until early 2018.

David Williams, Locality Director for NHS England (West Midlands) with responsibility for Coventry and Warwickshire, said: “I am pleased that the outline business case for this GP practice has been approved.

“The drop-in session will give patients and the local community the opportunity to give their suggestions and views on the design of the building before it’s submitted for planning permission.

“We welcome this feedback which will help to ensure that our local communities have access to local, good quality, GP services.”

The drop-in session is at Church Hall, Christ Church, Brownsover, on Thursday March 2 from 4.30-6.30pm.
