Is it too early for a Rugby World Cup beer?

RUGBY fans will have to be up early to catch the action in the World Cup - but one Rugby pub is banking on them doing just that.

The Merchants Inn, Little Church Street, will be showing all the big matches and the beer will be flowing - even at 7am.

England’s opening match with Argentina on Saturday is at the relatively civilised hour of 9.30am, but their clash with Romania gets under way at 7am on Sunday week (September 18).

England and Scotland face each other on Saturday October 1 at 8.30am. Emily Taylor of the Merchants said: “The beer will be flowing, but there will be coffee for those who don’t fancy a pint that early.”
