AFTER 23 years of teaching in Binley Woods schools Janet Tilley has retired.

Janet, who teaches at Binley Woods Primary, started in 1989 and has worked with a range of year groups. As well as developing the Foundation Unit she also leads a gardening Club in partnership with the village’s Allotment Association.

And Janet will be greatly missed, according to year 3 teacher Helen Keep. She said: “She’s a brilliant teacher and a popular part of the team here.

“She’s dedicated years of her life to the children she’s taught and makes everyone smile with her sense of humour and kindness. ”

A statement from the school added: “Janet is well known in the community due to her caring approach, having dedicated her self to the wellbeing and education of all the children in the school.

“Janet always puts the children first and has always brought enthusiasm and professionalism along with a good dose of humour to our work at Binley Woods Primary school and she will be very much missed by the children and families of Binley Woods and all the staff.”
