Midlands regional champions Bilton Silver Band, have brought a national trophy back to Rugby.
They were the runners-up in the second section finals of the National Brass Band Championships in Cheltenham for the second year running. The band, conducted by David Stowell, narrowly missed out on the top place out of 100 competitors with their performance of Kenneth Downie’s Purcell Variations. Band chairman Greg Little aid: “There’s a real buzz around the band at the moment which is evident not only at contests but in our concert performances too. We are extremely proud of our achievements and very excited about the future.”
