RUGBY cyclist James Golding rode from the Yorkshire Dales to Albert Square to help raise £100,000 for charity.

Team Emmerdale rode from the Woolpack on the show’s set, just north of Leeds, for the 224-mile bike ride down the country to the Queen Victoria on the set of Eastenders.

James took part in last Friday’s 24-hour ride to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief.

He joined soap stars Tom Lister (Carl King), Kevin Fletcher (Andy Sugden), James Thornton (John Barton), Rik Mackarem (Nikhil Sharma) and executive producer Steve November.

James, who is battling cancer for a second time and is due to have an operation next month, said: “The ride went well and I’m looking forward to my next challenge.”
