Burglars have struck at a number of homes in and around Rugby over the past few days.

Between 1am and 11am on Saturday December 27, thieves smashed back windows at a house in Hinckley Road, Wolvey and climbed in to the property. Once inside, they ransacked the householders’ belongings before making off with jewellery.

Between Saturday December 20 and Sunday January 4, burglars used a brick to smash the glass in the rear patio door at a home in Lancut Hill, Rugby and then entered the house. Once inside, the offenders carried out what the police have described as a “thorough search” before making off with several items.

And between 1am and 11am on Sunday, burglars forced open the rear door of a home in Hillfield Road, Rugby and then entered the house. Once inside, they stole a set of keys to a VW vehicle along with a handbag, a Macbook, keys and cash.

A police spokeswoman said: “Please remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons, vehicles or activity around your own of neighbouring homes, and please report anything of concern, to police on 101.”
