Police seeking missing Rugby man James Matthews have received reports of recent sightings of him in the town.
The popular 51-year-old - known as Jimmy - was reported missing on July 6 by friends he was staying with in Hackney, north-east London. He had not been seen by them since June 22. Police believe it is also possible he has returned to Hackney.
Jimmy is described as being of slender build and 5ft 8ins tall. He speaks with an English accent.
Hackney Police are appealing for Jimmy to contact them either in person or by telephone on 101 quoting reference number 14MIS023820 to confirm that he is safe and well. Alternatively, Jimmy can attend any local police station.
Anyone who is in contact with Jimmy should either ask him to get in touch with police, or call themselves on 101 asking for Hackney Missing Persons Unit. Alternatively, call Missing People on 116000.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “We would like to stress to James that we will not share any information concerning his whereabouts with any third party. We simply need to know that he is OK.”
Among his many friends is Claire Lomax, who worked with him at Cemex. She said: “He is just such a lovely, friendly guy.”
