EXAMPLES of entrepreneurial spirit and enterprise are now being sought in the hunt for Rugby’s Business Newcomer of the Year 2012.
If you’ve launched a successful and innovative business in the past 12 months then this is the award that could give you and your team the recognition it deserves.
Entries for the Business Newcomer of the Year Award, which is sponsored by Rugby Borough Council, will be judged on several challenging criteria, including clarity of business plans, achievement of stated objectives and a positive commitment to the local community.
Cllr Heather Timms, portfolio holder for the economy, development and culture, said: “Rugby Borough Council is proud to continue to support business success through the Business Newcomer award.
“Rugby has a proud history of innovation and entrepreneurialism and this award is an excellent way to celebrate the most recent additions to this heritage.”
She added: “Rugby continues to experience high levels of businesses starting, growing and prospering despite the current economic climate.
“This is one of the reasons why the town’s economy continues to out-perform Warwickshire, the West Midlands and indeed the nation.“
The winner will be announced during a black-tie awards ceremony at the Dunchurch Park Hotel on June 1. The awards are staged by the Advertiser and the main sponsor Cemex and this year feature comedian Bobby Davro as the star after-dinner entertainment.
Tickets for the awards night cost £40 plus VAT.
They include a three-course dinner, welcome drink, wine on the table and the evening’s entertainment. Places are limited so businesses are advised to book early.
For tickets, more information or to enter, call Ginny Hunter, the Advertiser’s advertisement manager, on (01788) 539990 or email ginny.hunter@rugby advertiser.co.uk.
Entering the awards is free.
