People living with dementia and their carers are invited to a free consultation event at Ryton Organic Gardens.
‘Thinking Differently About Dementia’ takes place next Thursday (September 29) from 10.30am - 3.15pm.
The event will be run as an inspiring and relaxing workshop, and will explore topics such as: gaining a basic understanding of dementia and some of its common symptoms, understanding how sensory perception changes with dementia, learning how to maximise well-being benefits from the outdoors, what activities and support are needed in the area.
It includes lunch, refreshments and access to Garden Organic’s inspirational organic gardens, including the horticultural therapy garden where individuals living with dementia currently participate in regular gardening activities.
Tickets are free but need to be reserved in advance.
People are invited to give feedback to the two charity organisers Dementia Adventure and Garden Organic.
