A LITTLE boy who is fighting leukaemia took part in a Bikeathon at the pre-school he attends.
Lewis Clarke had the honour of starting the sponsored event at Squirrels Pre-School last Monday.
Nearly 30 children took part on the day and did 25 laps of the playground. Manager Gill Shipp said: “Lewis leaves us this year to go to big school so we thought it would be good if he started the Bikeathon.
“It was a wonderful day and the sun was shining.”
The ride was held a day after his dad Matthew cycled 26 miles in the Rugby Bikeathon in honour of his son.
Four members of staff at the pre-school also took part to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
“Lewis inspired the ride,” added Gill.
“It’s a charity that’s very close to our hearts and we hope to have raised around £600.”
