Christmas has come early at Caldecott Park with the completion of a £15,000 revamp of the park’s play areas.

And Santa Claus took a break from his busy Christmas preparations this week to try out the new play equipment.

The revamp includes an expansion of the play area next to the park’s Old Tool Shed Cafe and new play equipment - a basket swing and thumb piano.

The park’s main play area also has new equipment, including cradle seat swings, an infinity bowl, slide and spring rocker.

Plans for the revamp were drawn up in response to visitor surveys and requests for more play equipment from visitors to the park.

Cllr Dr Mark Williams, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for sustainable environment, said: “The council listened to visitors to Caldecott Park and invested in play equipment which caters for children of all ages.

“We’re delighted the new play equipment has been installed in time for Christmas, and has already secured Santa’s seal of approval.”
