Householders in Rugby are being warned to keep their sheds and bicycles secure, following a spate of thefts around town.

Police say they are “currently experiencing a high volume” of such crimes, with power tools, bicycles, gardening equipment and sporting kit being stolen.

Police Sgt Sarah Masters of Rugby West Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: “We had six offences in the Hillmorton area in the early hours of Friday morning but others across the area this week.

“Please remember to keep your property secure. Lock your bikes up even if in the shed, use a heavy duty lock and a ground anchor.”

Belongings can also be registered on a national database. Visit https://www.immobilise.com/index.php for more information.
