Cigarettes, cash and alcohol stolen during burglary at Lawford Road wine shop in Rugby

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have walked or driven past Russells Wine Shop in Lawford Road, Rugby overnight between Sunday and Monday this week, whilst a burglary was in progress at the store.

The burglary occurred when the front metal shutter was forced and a window smashed.

Cigarettes, the till containing a small amount of cash and approximately twenty bottles of spirits were stolen.

The burglary was reported at 7.34am on Monday.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously near the store overnight that could be connected to the burglary.

The till is likely to be discarded by the thief. If you find a till discarded in a garden, near bins or roadside, please do not touch it but call police on 101.

Any witnesses are please asked to call police on 101 asking for PC 476 Suki Basi or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
