The post will be a paid a salary of £40,000 and applications will be considered on a full or part-time basis.

More details of the role can be found at www.warwickshire-pcc.gov.uk and the deadline for applications is noon on Friday, July 29. “This is an important post for the county and will be a challenging and rewarding job,” said Mr Seccombe. “I am extremely keen to ensure that I engage with all parts of the county as I carry out my duties and a Deputy will enable me to do this as widely as possible, as well as bringing additional resilience and skills to my office.

“Applicants need not be from a political or a policing background – what is most important is that they are someone who has a determination to work hard on the public’s behalf as part of strong and professional team, with excellent social skills who can engage with all parts of society.

“While I could have simply appointed a Deputy without opening a formal recruitment process, this would not have been fair, objective or transparent, nor would it have necessarily delivered the best candidate.

“I’m determined to find the right person for the role and I look forward to hearing from people who believe they have the right blend of skills and experience.”
