Death of ‘true gent’ Vince Dunne

"He had time for everybody": Vince Dunne

Family and friends have paid tributes to a much-loved Bilton businessman who died suddenly aged 63.

Vince Dunne had problems with his heart and passed away suddenly on April 12. He was manager of the Renault dealership garage at the top of Railway Terrace in Rugby for many years

After he left the garage, he went on to work for Citroen in Albert Street until he retired.

Vince was married to Marion and the couple used to enjoy holidays abroad together.

They had three daughters, Paula and twins Rachel and Stephanie.

Vince was a devoted grandad to Paula’s children Zack and Sapphire Mistry.

The family said he was one of life’s true gentlemen, who will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Paula, who runs a hair salon in Rugby, said: “My dad was a kind, generous, family man who had time for everybody.”

Rachel said: “He spent a lot of time with his grandchildren and was a brilliant grandad.

“He was a father you could always rely on and we loved him so much.

“We will miss his ‘dad’ jokes which he used to always laugh at himself and his general presence in our lives.”

Stephanie said she couldn’t have wished for a better dad adding: “He was really hard working and seemed to know everybody,” she said.

Rachel added: “We will really miss him but we are glad he was not in pain and did not suffer when he died.”

Vince’s funeral took place last Thursday at St George’s Church, followed by a cremation. Donations were made to the British Heart Foundation. His family would like to thank everyone for their support.
