The team, who attend Wag ‘n’ Train School for Dogs in Rugby, were put through a series of assessments last Saturday to obtain the coveted Kennel Club Gold Award.

They had to perform over a gruelling three-hour period on multiple tests, and each dog had to be ‘gold standard’ throughout the exercise. Instructor Sue Reynolds commented that more and more owners want to join dog-training classes so that they can enjoy the benefits of having a well-trained and sociable dog for company.

She said: “It was wonderful to see all five who entered, achieve their gold awards, and to see responsible owners enjoying quality time with their dogs.”

Those taking part included Sue Reynolds, Nicola Childs and dog Beanz; Michelle Childs and Leila Marsh with dog Sprouts; Ian Worley with dog Max, Sam Hewitt with dog Charlie and Steve Baldin with dog Ollie.

They said their hard work had paid off and it was great fun taking part in the award. For details on training classes, contact Sue at Wag ‘n’ Train on (01788) 817610.
