Staff from McDonald’s outlets in Rugby have been helping to clean up the local environment as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s Love Where You Live campaign.

Various green initiatives have been organised by the fast food chain’s environmental ambassadors, known as ‘planet champions’.

To mark the 40th anniversary of McDonald’s in the UK, volunteers will be taking part in 40 clean-up events across nine counties.

The company, which completes three litter patrols a day around each of its restaurants, says its aim is to send zero waste to landfill.
