Five men sentenced after six slaughtered sheep found in car boot

The men were apprehended after their vehicle was stopped by traffic officers at approximately 11.25pm on Sunday, April 24 between junction two and one of the M6 near Rugby. Six dead sheep were discovered in the boot of the vehicle, a Nissan Primera, which was driven by Venus Corcoveano.

When officers searched the vehicle they found two knives, one of which was stained with blood.

The bodies of the sheep were found in the boot of the vehicle. All had their heads wrapped in black bin liners and their throats had been cut.

All five defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.

Venus Corcoveano, 38-years-old, of Caldmore Green, Walsall was handed a 14 week jail term and has been ordered to pay £180 compensation each and a £115 victim surcharge.

The co-accused all received 18 weeks in prison along with £180 compensation each and £115 victim surcharge. They were Mircea Marinel Tamboi, 29-years-old, of West Bromwich Street, Walsall: Damian Durac, 18-years-old, address unknown: Elvis Slavu, 30-years of age, address unknown: Catalin Marian Scaficea, 37-years-old, of Tasker Street, Walsall.
