Heroin and cocaine dealer jailed after undercover police operation in Rugby

A Rugby drug dealer has been jailed after police executed a covert drugs operation in the Brownsover area.

Shane Hunt, 26, appeared in Warwick Crown Court on Friday, February 5, for conspiracy to supply class A controlled drugs heroin and cocaine.

He was sentenced to 32 months imprisonment.

The prosecution arises from a covert police drugs investigation led by Rugby Proactive CID, Operation Clipper, targeted the supply of class A controlled drugs in the Brownsover area of Rugby.

Acting on information gathered through a variety of means, the operation centred around the criminal drug activities of Hunt.

On Tuesday, July 28 2015, officers carried out a drugs warrant at an address on Betony Road, Rugby, where Hunt was detained and arrested.

Police officers carried out a methodical search of the address where property was seized that was conducive with drug trafficking.
