A day and night of fun and fundraising takes place in honour of teenager Joel Hammond on Saturday.
His aunt, Hayley Hammond, wanted to raise money and awareness after her 15 year old nephew was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia.
Joel, who attends Bilton High School, has been fighting a tough battle and had to start chemotherapy 12 hours after diagnosis
His aunt is the driving force behind Party in the Park in Rugby, which takes place from noon to 5pm.
“The support has been amazing,” said Hayley.
“It will be an afternoon full of fun for the whole family. There will be games, rides, music, a big raffle and guest speakers.”
In the evening, entertainment continues with Party on the Pitch at St Andrew’s Rugby Club, Hillmorton Road, from 7pm to 11pm. Both events are free.
The event is being held in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and to raise awareness of cancer in children and teenagers.”
Various lots will be auctioned off, including a gift donated by the British Racing Drivers Club, with two passes including circuit access, use of Pirtek hospitality and lunch.
Also up for auction is a table for ten people for The Best Parties Ever in Milton Keynes for Christmas party - a ‘Can-Can Christmas’.
