Peter Bullard’s latest offering is called Foxes Never Quit (Glory, Glory Leicester City) and, following last night’s celebrations, the song has made the leap to number 4 on Amazon’s best-selling reggae tunes.

The single also saw a surge of downloads on iTunes in the UK and is now listed at number 22 in the top 40 reggae songs - ahead of big music names like Bob Marley and Shaggy.

The song features former Emmerdale star Dee (Deirdre) Quemby from Mountsorrel and EastEnders star Shenton Dixon.

Twenty-five local artists also lent their vocals to the charity single, which is a reggae number based on the The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

All of the money from its sale will be donated to Prostate UK.

Leicester City have enjoyed a fairytale season so Peter, who has prostate cancer, and music producer Leighton Morrell felt fans needed a local tune to mark their success.

Peter penned the song while Leighton managed to recruit the county’s top talent to bring his vision to life.

Speaking of the overnight surge in downloads, Peter said: “I’m absolutely elated - I am over the moon! I think euphoria is the only word to describe it.”

“All the profits from the downloads go to the prostate cancer charity but we won’t know the total money raised for a while yet.”

The track is available to download on iTunes and Amazon for 79p.
