Machetes and hammers wielded as Rugby householders threatened

Three people armed with machetes and hammers threw weapons at a house on St George’s Avenue, Rugby on Sunday.

They threatened the residents of the house before making off in a van. Police attended the scene and three people were arrested nearby.

The incident follows a burglary in Martin Lane, Rugby. Intruders entered a property at some point between March 18 and April 4 and stole a bag containing a quantity of Euros and a Sainsbury’s credit card.

Police advise people to to remain alert and be on the lookout for suspicious persons, vehicles or activity around their own or neighbouring homes. They ask anything unusual or of concern to be reported by calling 101.
