Police in Rugby executed a warrant at an address in Robertson Close, Clifton on Dunsmore yesterday (Thursday).

Officers from the Rugby Safer Neighbourhood Team discovered a large number of mature cannabis plants inside the house together with equipment for the cultivation of the plants.

A 26-year old man arrested near to the property on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis, was questioned and later released on police bail, to return to Nuneaton Police Station in March.

The plants were taken away for disposal.

Police remind members of the public to be alert to properties in their communities where cannabis may be being cultivated. They are asked to contact their Safer Neighbourhood team if they have any suspicions.

Tell tale signs include properties where the curtains or blinds are permanently closed, or appear to be covered up from the inside, lights on in parts of the house all the time, strong odours emanating from the property and people visiting the property at odd times of the day.

Anyone with information can contact their local Safer Neighbourhood Team by calling Warwickshire Police on 101.
