Euro MP Anthea McIntyre visited Ball Packaging in Rugby on Friday.

During the visit, accompanied by Rugby MP Mark Pawsey, she was given the chance to see how the UK’s packaging manufacturing industry works.

Miss McIntyre, one of six MEPs representing the West Midlands, said: “I can see how important the packaging industry is for our country.”

Ball Packaging, in Pretorian Way, is one of Europe’s major beverage can producers.

Since 1989 Ball has been producing cans from the Rugby site with 142 employees involved in the process of manufacturing.
