Schools in Rugby will see their funding increase by £223 per pupil thanks to a £390 million Government initiative to make school funding fairer.

The schools budget in Warwickshire will increase by £15.4 million and Rugby schools will see their per pupil funding increase by 5.5 per cent.

Rugby MP Mark Pawsey said: “Children in Rugby deserve the very best schools so they can gain the skills they need to get on in life.

“That’s why I welcome this cash boost. It means our schools will get the resources they are entitled to and will help improve the quality of education for all children in Rugby.

“This new money is part of our long-term economic plan to help all young people to have the best schools and skills so that they can succeed in life.”

The increase will apply to the budgets of the least fairly funded areas, while ensuring no other local authority’s per pupil funding will be reduced.
