On Sunday May 18 Rugby will gear itself up to welcome an array of vintage and modern motorbikes, as they roar into the town centre, as part of the first ever Rugby BikeFest!

The festival organised by Rugby First, in conjunction with local motorcycling groups, businesses and organisations, will take place in Market Place and High Street between 10.30am and 3pm.

The free family friendly festival is a great opportunity to celebrate a real variety of motorcycles from vintage to modern, British and beyond. Displays and owners will be on hand to reveal the fascinating history of the bikes and answer any questions you may have, along with a variety of bike related stalls. If you are interested in displaying your bike or having a stall please get in touch.

There will also be music, food and children’s activities, including a bouncy castle, quad bikes, the unrideable bike and face painting so make sure you don’t miss out! Music during the day is being provided by ‘The Vault’ and will see a variety of bands perform during the day!

If you want to see some of these magnificent machines in action and hear the roar of their engines you’ll need to be in the town centre for just after 10am to enjoy the ‘Ride-in’ as the bikes make their way from Hillmorton to take up position in the town centre! If you have a bike and want to be part of the ‘Ride-In’ please get in touch to find out more.

Aftab Gaffar, Rugby First Managing Director said: “This is the first year of the Rugby BikeFest and having the bikes in the town centre will create a real buzz and I’m very excited. I would like to say a special thank you to all those motorcycling groups, organisations and individuals who have really got behind the event. Without their hard work, support and enthusiasm this event would not have been able to happen.”

The festival is funded through Warwickshire County Council’s Operation Footfall Campaign and supported by Rugby First, Rugby Borough Council, local businesses, bike groups, clubs and organisations.
