There’s a packed programme of fun for all ages at this year’s Rugby Spring Fair.
Planning is well underway for this year’s Spring Fair which will be returning to Whitehall Recreation Ground.
The annual Spring Fair - which attracts thousands of visitors each year - will return on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5.
Organisers have described the event as ‘returning to the home of Spring Fair’ this year as it moves back to Whitehall Recreation Ground following two years elsewhere.
There will be the usual attractions including stalls, fun fair rides, display areas and arena entertainment.
The Rugby Spring Fair has been one of the largest social events held in the town for the last 36 years, with regular attendances of up to 10,000 people of all ages.
One of the organisers, Rotarian Ian Bentlett, said: “This is a major family fun day and we hope to see our usual large crowds at this event.”
In 2012 the event was held at Caldecott Park, before moving to Oakfield Recreation Ground last year while Whitehall Rec was unavailable due to building work on the town’s new leisure centre. Now that the leisure centre is open the fair can return to the Rec.
Organisers at The Dunsmore Rotary Club are hoping to raise even more than the £13,000 from 2013.
Last year was a record year with 7,000 people turning out, said another organiser Joe Sadler.
“We hope to better that this year,” he added.
He said there will be something for everyone at the event and all they are hoping for now is good weather.
Gates open at 11.30am and the event will close at 5pm. For more information visit www.rugbyspringfair.co.uk.
