Two armed burglars forced their way into a house in Ryton-on-Dunsmore on Wednesday night.
Police are now hunting for the two burglars who stole a family car during an aggravated burglary.
They got into the house in Bagshaw Close in Ryton-on-Dunsmore at around 6.35pm after kicking open the door. One of them was armed with a baton.
They demanded the keys to the red Ford Focus car parked on the drive outside, but left when they saw the keys on a coffee table and grabbed them.
One of the offenders who forced entry to the house is described as being approximately 6ft tall, of slim build and in his early 20s was wearing a dark hoody and had a scarf round his face.
The Ford Focus was driven off, without any lights on along Bagshaw Close and into Fetherston Crescent before being lost from view.
At 7.50pm the red Ford Focus was seen being driven along the A4071 Straight Mile driving towards Princethorpe in convoy with another red car.
The Ford Focus was then found abandoned in Bourton on Dunsmore.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the red Ford Focus being driven from Ryton-on-Dunsmore at around 6.40pm, anyone who saw anyone with the car around the time it was abandoned in Bourton on Dunsmore.
“They would also like to know where the Ford Focus was between the time it was stolen and when it was next seen on the Straight Mile around an hour later.”
