Three more ‘suspicious’ incidents have been reported at bookmakers in Rugby in the last 24 hours.

Warwickshire Police say that after a robbery at Coral bookies in Bilton and an attempted robbery at Coral in Hillmorton Road last week, other bookmakers in town are currently operating ‘enhanced security measures’.

In the past 24 hours there have been reports of three more incidents at bookmakers in the town in which a man dressed in a grey hoodie has approached the premises and kicked at the entrance doorway and run away.

The incidents were at Coral in The Green, Bilton, Coral in Bridget Street and Ladbrokes in Clifton Road.

Police are treating these incidents as suspicious and are making enquiries to trace the offenders.

Detective Inspector Roy Wheelwright from Rugby CID said, “Although we cannot rule out that there is a link between these incidents and those from last week, they have different characteristics and we remain open minded.

“We welcome any information from witnesses who may have seen these latest incidents at Coral bookmakers on The Green in Bilton, Coral bookmakers in Bridget Street and Ladbrokes in Clifton Road.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Rugby CID by dialling Warwickshire Police on 101. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
