A farmer came to the rescue of four people stuck in a car in a flooded ford near Rugby yesterday (Monday).

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at about 3.20pm yesterday with reports of three children and a driver trapped in their car in Montilo Lane, Churchover.

The people in the car could not open the doors to get out but a farmer in the area rescued them before firefighters arrived.

Other parts of the borough flooded included Kings Newnham.
