UPDATE: Elderly man dies in hospital after collision with a car in Bilton

An elderly man who was involved in a collision with a car yesterday afternoon (Monday) has died in hospital.

Warwickshire Police confirmed this afternoon that the man, 81, died this morning (Tuesday) at University Hospital in Coventry.

He has not yet been formally identified.

The man was in a critical condition in critical care at the hospital after being involved in a collision with a car.

Emergency services were called to Main Street in Bilton at around 4.04pm on Monday where there had been a collision involving a silver Ford Fiesta car and the man outside Tesco Express.

The man was flown to hospital by Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward - particularly anyone who was travelling on the number four bus which stopped outside Tesco Express at around 4pm.
