There’s nothing like a good breakfast to set you up for the day.
But fry-ups - and even sugary cereals - were out of the question for children in Brownsover last week as they learned how to make their own muesli.
Pupils at Brownsover Community School took part in Farmhouse Breakfast Week, an annual campaign to promote the importance of starting the day healthily.
Caron Scott, from The Co-operative Farms’ Ashby St Ledgers Estate, spoke to the children about the benefits of eating a nutritious breakfast, and gave them a hands-on lesson in muesli-making. She said: “It was an exciting experience for the children to make their own food from scratch.”
