Burglars took advantage of neighbourly goodwill in Kilsby to steal jewellery from a house on Friday.
The incident happened between in Rugby Road on April 4 between 1.30pm and 3.45pm. Three men had knocked on the back window of the house and told the householder her neighbour’s house had been flooded and she needed to turn off her water. The woman did not let the men in and they left.
The woman went to check on her neighbour, who said everything was fine. But a short time later, the neighbour realised a window at the back of the house had been smashed cash and various jewellery had been stolen, including a gold pocket watch on a chain.
The three men were white. One of the men was about 5ft 8in, with a large build. He was wearing a light-coloured puffa jacket and a dark baseball cap. The other two men were slightly smaller and aged in their late teens to early 20s. One of them was wearing a woolly hat.
