200 jobs at risk as Tesco plans to shut one of its DIRFT warehouses

Tesco has started consulting with staff at one of its DIRFT warehouses over its potential closure.

The 200 staff at the Tesco Direct warehouse in Danes Way, Crick, were told of the proposed changes on Tuesday.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Following a review, Tesco has announced plans to re-open its Fenny Lock distribution centre in Milton Keynes creating 300 jobs. Part of the business currently operated from this site will move to Fenny Lock, and we are working with union USDAW to support affected colleagues through this difficult time.

“We hope to offer them all alternative roles within the clothing and grocery distribution centres at Daventry or at Fenny Lock”.
