A new website to make your voice heard about alcohol, health and democracy

Alcohol, health and democracy are among the topics on which people in Rugby are being invited to have their say through a new website.
The county council has set up Ask Warwickshire as a “more dynamic” way of hearing the public’s views than filling in paper surveys. The authority says it wants to make it easier for people to express their opinions on a range of topics.
Cllr Colin Hayfield, one of the people responsible for the project, said: “The aim is to open up a conversation with local people.”
The subjects currently on the website include the price of alcohol, standing for election and ideas to improve people’s health.
The idea is to develop an online community to encourage ongoing participation and contribution to issues. The council believes that the more people that visit Ask Warwickshire, the more powerful their voice will be.
Cllr Hayfield added: “We want to provide the opportunity for residents to share their views on a range of topics in a more dynamic, informal way. Rather than distribute surveys to Citizen Panel members two or three times a year, we want to generate more timely conversations.”
