Advertiser Stamp Appeal raises enough for medicine for three months - let’s keep going

MORE than 16,000 stamps have now been collected as part of the Rugby Advertiser Stamp Appeal.
Since the launch of our charity stamp appeal six weeks ago thousands of your stamps have been flooding through the doors of the Advertiser.
Last week the first of many processing nights took place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where a number of volunteers counted all of the stamps that have been collected so far.
The total is currently standing at more than 16,000.
This means that with your help there will be more than enough stamps to buy medicine for a third world village for three months.
Bishop Paul Hughes from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said: “We have found that the stamp project is an excellent way to help those in need simply by giving a little of our time and accessing resources that are readily available to us. It is good to know that we can make a difference to people’s lives.”
Our Stamp Appeal is simply about collecting as many used British and foreign postage stamps, old or modern, as we can from our readers.
Proceeds from the appeal will help make a difference to the lives of people suffering from poverty and illness via Oxfam.
Proceeds will also support people living with illness in this country through the Leukaemia Care charity.
Although thousands of stamps have already been donated we would still like more.
