PUPILS at Bilton Junior School are the first in the town to get on board with our charity Stamp Appeal.

Prompted by an appeal in the school newsletter, hundreds of stamps have been donated to the Advertiser Stamp Appeal.

The majority of the stamps were donated by Bilton pupil Matthew Wright, with a little help from his dad. A few other parents and children also contributed to the huge haul.

The donation from Bilton Junior marks the first school to join in with our ever growing appeal which has seen around 18,000 stamps come through our door in just a matter of weeks.

We wrote to all the schools in the town at the start of the year asking pupils, parents and staff to get involved.

We want to get everyone in the town including schools, businesses and community groups - so please get collecting! And we’ll come out and take as many photos as we can of everyone who gets involved.

The Stamp Appeal is raising money for Oxfam and Leukaemia Care. So far we’ve collected more than enough to buy medicine for a village for three months.

Please drop your stamps off at the Advertiser office in Albert Street, Rugby or call Alice Dyer on (017880 539969.
