BREAKING NEWS: man with machete threatens cashier during robbery at Coral in Hillmorton Road

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that at Coral in Hillmorton Road this morning (Tuesday).

The robbery occurred at around 10.10am today when two men went into the shop wearing blue boiler suits and balaclavas.

One of the men stood at the door while the other approached the counter carrying what is believed to be a machete and demanded money from the cashier.

The cashier placed a small amount of cash into a blue holdall and the two thieves ran out of the shop and across the road into Kingsley Avenue.

Witnesses said they saw the men running down Studland Avenue where they are believed to have got into a dark red car – possibly a Renault or a Peugeot before driving off towards Lower Hillmorton Road.

No-one was injured during the robbery.

The man who spoke to the cashier is described as a slim 6ft tall white male in his 20s wearing a blue boiler suit and balaclava. He was carrying a blue bag.

The male who stood at the door is described as a slim 5’8” tall white male in his 20s wearing a blue boiler suit and balaclava.

Coral was also targeted during a robbery in April 2011.
