CS spray found at Rugby car wash in Newbold Road
Police found illegal CS spray while searching a Rugby car wash.
Przemyslaw Jasinski, 25, of Oxford Street, Rugby, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months after pleading guilty at Warwick Crown Court to possessing a prohibited weapon.
Prosecutor Iain Willis said that on November 10 the police were called to a garage in Newbold Road, where Jasinski was washing cars. The police had been told there had been a firearms incident, and it was alleged that Jasinski had produced a gun. He was searched, and no gun was found on him - but the police found a CS gas canister on the site. Jasinski, originally from Poland, told them he had bought it on the internet four years ago for personal protection. There was no suggestion the spray had ever been used.
Sentencing Jasinski, Judge Richard Griffith-Jones told him: “You are not allowed to have things like that in this country.”
