Large fuel leak on M6 near Rugby

Firefighters were called to the M6 near Rugby on Saturday after a large fuel lea,.

The incident involved a broken down lorry which was on the southbound carriageway of the motorway between junction two for Coventry and one for Rugby at around 4.20pm.

The lorry had around 250 litres of diesel leaking from the fuel tank.

Fire crews attempted to stop the leak using an environmental grab pack.

The Highways Agency also attended and the Environment Agency were informed of the fuel leak.
