Man airlifted to hospital by Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance after M1 crash near Rugby
A COLLISION between a van and a lorry closed the M1 this morning (Thursday).
The incident happened between junction 18 at Crick and 17 at Dunchurch on the northbound carriageway just after 7.15am this morning.
The air ambulance initially landed in a field near the motorway then relocated to the motorway carriageway once it had been closed.
The casualty, believed to be in his 20s, was suffering from injuries to his hip and leg as well as a laceration to his head. He had been a passenger in the van which collided with the HGV.
The team airlifting him to the major trauma centre at University Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.
