POLICE have fined a man after discovering a cannabis farm in Rugby.

Police swooped on two addresses during early morning raids in Rugby yesterday (Monday) as part of Operation X.

The raids were part of a series carried out across the county, during which eight arrests were made.

Two arrests were made in Matlock Close, Rugby, where a 34-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male were questioned before being released on bail pending further enquiries.

A man was fined following the discovery of a cannabis farm in Crackthorne Drive, Rugby. Officers from the Rugby PPA team seized plants from the property along with associated hydroponics.

The aim of Operation X is to go the extra mile to catch criminals and protect communities where the most harm occurs in Warwickshire and is set to run until March 2014.
