FOUR dedicated Rugbeians have expressed their shock and delight at being included on the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list.
Ian Francis, Patricia Scriven and Professor Richard Wilding have all become OBEs, while Beryl Emery is among those to receive the British Empire Medal, which was discontinued in 1992 but revived for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Mr Francis was recognised for his voluntary service to law and order and the Church of England, Ms Scriven for her work with the prison service, Prof Wilding for his services to business and Mrs Emery for her three-and-a-half decades of volunteer work in Rugby.
