Police and Crime Commissioner meets with Warwickshire MPs

THE Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire has met with local MPs at the House of Commons.

Ron Ball, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire, attended a meeting with MPs to discuss policing issues in Warwickshire.

The meeting at the House of Commons on Monday was the first of what will be quarterly meetings between the PCC and the elected members for Warwickshire.

Issues discussed included funding for Warwickshire Police from central government and the importance of visibility for the PCC across the whole county.

Local issues including the custody suite at Rugby Police Station, the future of the police station in Stratford upon Avon and measures being put in place to manage the use of public roads around Hams Hall were also discussed.

After the meeting Ron Ball said: “It is important that the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner has regular contact with our local MPs who are aware of the issues that concern members in their constituencies. This first meeting was very positive and has set the foundation stones for how we can best work together.”

Ron Ball, was accompanied by the deputy PCC , Eric Wood and the interim Chief Executive Mark Gore to the House of Commons where they met with MPs Dan Byles (North Warwickshire), Marcus Jones (Nuneaton), Mark Pawsey (Rugby) and Nadhim Zahawi(Stratford upon Avon).

Jeremy Wright (Kenilworth and Southam) and Chris White (Warwick and Leamington) were unable to attend the meeting, but will be meeting with the PCC in the near future.
