Teenager Livvy auctions art for cancer charity
more than 70 pieces of art are being auctioned off for charity thanks to the efforts of a Rugby School pupil.
Livvy Constable-Maxwell is raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. The art has been donated by parents and staff and one special piece by award-winning artist Rebecca Lardner was provided by Whitewall Galleries.
The art, which can be seen on an auction website from Monday, includes photography, graphics, designs and textiles.
Livvy said: “The standard of the artwork is truly overwhelming and seeing everything in the gallery now is past everything I ever imagined. It is due to the huge generosity of pupils and parents that I was able to collect so many pieces.”
She added: “I’ve seen the unit at Addenbrook where the money will be going and it’s a fantastic place but unfortunately it is expensive to run. It provides an impressive network for young people with cancer and their families. It also funds research into the causes and treatments for cancer.”
The exhibition will be open weekdays 2pm to 5pm at the Lewis Gallery at Rugby School. To find out more, log on to www.rugbyschool.com/auction. The auction ends on Friday February 10.
