THIS must have been a Good Friday service at Rugby’s Holy Trinity church, which stood where Church Street joins Clifton Road in the town centre.

Susan Clark, from Hillmorton, who brought the photo in, thinks it would have been taken in the early 1960s although it could have been later.

Her mother, Doris Bull, is the lady fifth from the right, slightly obscured by repairs to the picture.

She lived in James Street, Rugby and died about 30 years ago.

Next to her in the light fur coat and hat was Mrs Blake. On the far right was Miss Orcorn, a church warden.

Taking the service was the Rev Reardon, who Mrs Clark remembers as being a very good vicar and there for a few years. She used to go to guides there and was very upset when the church was pulled down in the 1980s.

Peeping through, behind the lady in the headscarf, was Annette Goodger and her father is the man nearest to them. The man with the dog is Mr Harrison.
