WHAT IS IT?
Although West Midlands Safari Park is open on a part-time/part open basis during the winter, it opens for the summer this weekend.
WHERE AND WHEN IS IT?
West Midlands Safari Park is about an hour’s drive away, to the south-west of Birmingham. The address is Spring Grove, Bewdley, Worcestershire, DY12 1LF.
The park opens for ‘summer’ on Saturday.
WHAT DO THEY SAY ABOUT IT?
The talk of the park is of two smitten ruffed lemurs (pictured) who have taken to one another.
Their romance has been spurred on by park staff, who have provided the animals - named Romeo and Juliet - with the surroundings most appropriate for letting nature take its course. On a note serious note the creatures are an endangered species, so any additions to the population at the park would be welcome news for conservationists.
Swooning Lemurs aside, the park also hosts a vast array of wildlife including elephants, tigers, lions and cheetahs. There is also an African village, lemur woods, and rides.
