A serious collision caused one lane to be closed on the A5 between Rugby and Lutterworth yesterday (Tuesday).

One vehicle flipped onto its roof (pictured above) as a result of the crash, which occurred near the Gibbet roundabout yesterday evening.

A Leicestershire police spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.55pm to reports of a two vehicle vehicle RTC on the A5.

“It involved a silver mercedes and a black BMW and the road was partially blocked for a short time.”

“One driver was treated at the scene and one person was taken to University Hospital Coventry but there were no life changing or life threatening injuries.”
