POLICE have arrested a man in the early hours of Sunday morning for drink driving.

A vehicle was seen being driven erratically from Rugby town centre towards Bilton Road.

Police stopped the vehicle and found two people inside. The driver provided a positive breath test and was arrested for drink driving.

A spokesman for the Rugby Town West policing team said: “It seems that the occupants who only lived on the Pavillions estate had thought it was safe to drive home from the town centre after drinking alcohol.

“It is a fact that a significant amount of car accidents occur within five minutes of the drivers home address and most people drink drive within five minutes of their home address.

“Please don’t put your safety and the safety of others at risk. Don’t drink and drive.”
