Man arrested for possession of a knife in Rugby town centre

POLICE were called to the town centre on Friday night after a man was seen causing problems in Chapel Street, Rugby.

At around 10.30pm on Friday Rugby First CCTV controllers spotted the man and alerted police after seeing knife in the waistband of his trousers.

Officers attended and found two kitchen knives. While the man was being arrested he resisted and spat at an officer.

The man has been charged for offences of carrying a knife, assaulting a police officer and criminal damage.
